Amazon Providing an AI Tool for Listing Generation 🤖
The robots are taking over!? Well, not necessarily. But Amazon is providing an new generative AI tool to assist sellers with listing creation. The seller has to provide a brief product description, and AI will come back to them with titles, bullet points, and a description. This puts more pressure on sellers to develop high-quality infographics. Everyone is on the same playing field with copy, so you need to use listing images to stand out. Link
New Attribute Required! Check Your Listings 💰
Amazon’s new requirement for the ListPrice attribute across 1,773 product types might affect your business. You’re going to need to be more strategic about your pricing structure. Now, consumers will consider the perceived value of your product in their eyes. Link
Amazon Expanding Supply Chain Services ⛓️
Amazon is trying to help sellers simplify their operations and reduce costs in moving products from warehouse to customer. They announced an expansion of its supply chain services, enabling sellers to distribute products in bulk from Amazon’s warehouses to other fulfillment channels and physical retail stores. This is notable because those retail stores and fulfillment channels don’t need to be affiliated with Amazon.
Amazon Going Toe to Toe With UPS And FedEx 🚚
Amazon is rolling out a new ground shipping service for sellers. This service will take products from seller warehouses directly to customers. This is an alternative to traditional shipping services like UPS and FedEx. Sellers are now able to streamline their logistics to reduce costs and improve delivery times. Link
Amazon Investing In Delivery Drivers 👷
Amazon has announced plans to increase wages for contracted drivers. The average pay per hour will be $20.50 with benefits. The $440 million investment is intended to make workers and unions happy with Amazon’s efforts to treat them fairly. Amazon wants to attract and retain drivers. Link
