Guide: Getting Started on Shopify 🛒

Not necessarily an Amazon guide, but I wrote this for Amazon sellers who want to get started on Shopify. I go over things like importing your entire inventory, creating your Shopify site, and more. Click here to check it out.

HUGE Holiday Season Incoming 🎅

Amazon’s ambitious hiring plan for the holiday season includes hiring over 250k seasonal workers. That, coupled with significant pay increases for fulfillment and transportation employees, signals a robust holiday shopping season ahead. This is a clear indicator of the potential surge in demand, and as an Amazon seller, it’s your cue to ensure your inventory is well-stocked and your marketing strategies are fine-tuned. Link

Exciting Features Announced at Accelerate⚡️

Amazon announced a couple of new features for sellers and buyers. They include a Customer Loyalty Analytics Dashboard, a Customer Sentiment Insights board, a board that lets brands see the accuracy of their sizes, and a feature for customers to visualize products on tables and countertops. All of these features are focused on customer satisfaction and helping brands connect with customers. Link

FBA Small and Light Program 🪱

The FBA Small and Light (SnL) program is being replaced by a low-price FBA fee rate card. The transition from the FBA Small and Light program to the Low-Price FBA rates is a significant shift that could impact your bottom line. This change is particularly relevant if you’re dealing with low-cost, lightweight items, as the new fee structure could potentially alter your profit margins. Understanding these changes is crucial to ensure you’re optimizing your Amazon business strategy. Link

September API Release 📝

The expansion of the Listings Items API to include package hierarchy attributes across the US, EU, and JP markets empowers sellers to create more connected listings, enhancing search visibility and product organization. This is a game-changer, as it allows you to link units, case packs, and pallets of a product, thereby creating a more streamlined and efficient inventory management system. This not only improves your operational efficiency but also boosts your product’s visibility, a key factor in driving sales. Link

New Product Listing Attributes Required for New Listings

In a significant update for Amazon Sellers, starting October 3, 2023, new product listings on the platform will be required to include 208 specific attributes across 213 product types. Sellers should take note that failing to provide valid attributes for new listings will result in those products not being added to the catalog. While updating attribute values for existing listings is recommended, existing listings will not be suppressed if these attributes are missing.

That’s all for the week! Next week, we’ll have more news and more advice on growing your Amazon business.
